Uncle
Lenny's friend is 69 years old and he was once a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies....
I
have already spent one and a half hours talking with Uncle Lenny's friend on the telephone, and he is truely a fascinating
person....
He has given me permission to use the pictures that appear
on this page, and he is making arrangements for me to publish more about him....
His
name is Art Mahaffey, and while he was establishing himself as a pitcher for the Phillies, I was in training at the U. S.
Army Infantry Schools at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Fort Riley, Kansas, 1st. Infantry Division, U.S. Army Infantry, Airborne and Air Assault Schools, Fort Benning, Georgia, & Fort Campbell, Kentucky, The Transportation School at Fort Eustis, Virginia, and the Air Traffic Control School at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi....
